Intense Pulsed Light Treatment (IPL)
Classification: Cosmetic Non-Invasive/Minimally-Invasive ServicesIntense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment is used to improve the appearance of sun damaged skin and is especially effective for red discoloration and treatment of darker brown "age" spots. IPL is most commonly used to treat the diffuse redness that occurs in patients who have acne Rosacea and the red and brown changes that occur with extensive sun damage. The face, neck, arms, and hands are all commonly treated with IPL. A series of 6 treatments is typically recommended with "touch up" sessions as needed periodically (every several months or so). It is important to note that rosacea patients who experience facial flushing with exercise, consumption of alcohol, exposure to heat, or when emotional may not achieve significant relief of their symptoms with IPL treatment.

Traditional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing
Classification: Cosmetic Non-Invasive/Minimally-Invasive ServicesLaser skin resurfacing has revolutionized the treatment of aging skin and scars. Dr. Biesman is an internationally recognized expert on laser skin resurfacing and has authored a medical textbook on this subject. He has played a pioneering role in developing the newer CO2 lasers which are used to treat deep facial wrinkles and skin discoloration around the mouth, eyes, forehead and cheeks and to improve the appearance of acne scarring and other textural irregularities of the skin. Many still consider traditional CO2 laser skin resurfacing the “gold standard” in skin rejuvenation treatments. In expert hands, laser skin resurfacing produces outstanding results. While there are numerous alternatives to traditional laser skin resurfacing that offer lower risk and/or faster recovery, these less aggressive options will not produce the amount of improvement by patients with advanced changes due to aging and sun damage.
